Une compilation 5cd rassemble les 120 singles enregistrés en 1968 pour Stax Records par Otis Redding, The Staple Singers, Booker T. and the M.G.s, Johnnie Taylor, Albert King, Isaac Hayes, Rufus Thomas et bien d'autres... Marquée par sa rupture avec Atlantic et l'assassinat de Martin Luther King, 1968 fut une année charnière pour Stax Records. 50 ans plus tard, le coffret Stax '68: A Memphis Story réunit tous les singles (faces A et faces B) publiés au cours de cette riche année. Cette anthologie, dans un élégant packaging contient également un livret de 56 pages illustré de photos rares extraites des archives de Stax et rédigé par l'historien de Memphis Andria Lisle, le spécialiste de Stax Records Robert Gordon et le producteur Steve Greenberg.
