L'artiste R&B Jill Scott grandit à Philadelphie aux Etats-Unis. Elle commence sa carrière en lisant ses propres poèmes et se fait remarquer par Amir, le batteur de The Roots. Ce dernier l'invite en studio et Jill Scott co-signe le titre You Got Me. Ensuite, elle travaille avec Eric Benet, Will Smith et Common et part en tournée au Canada avec la comédie musicale Rent. En 2000, elle enregistre son premier album Who Is Jill Scott? Words And Sounds Vol. 1. 2002: la chanteuse signe un album live: Experience: Jill Scott 826+. Adulé par la presse internationale, en pleine ascension, Jill sort en 2004, un 2ème volet soul R&B/jazzy qui porte le joli nom de Beautifully Human: Words and Souns Vol.2. Read more on Last.fm.
