Biographie
Marcus Miller a commencé comme clarinettiste puis s'est initié à la basse. Il est aussi un compositeur de jazz fusion (ou jazz rock). Il est né à Brooklyn (États-Unis, New York) le 14 juin 1959. Multi-instrumentiste, il se consacre plus particulièrement à la basse ainsi qu'a la clarinette basse et sa carrière décolle lors de ses fructueuses collaborations avec le grand nom du jazz : Miles Davis (en naîtra dans les années 80 l'enregistrement Tutu). Il a également travaillé sur l'album Zoolook de Jean-Michel Jarre en 1984 (notamment les morceaux "Ethnicolor" et "Zoolook"). Il poursuit depuis sa carrière en tête d'affiche, composant et jouant ses thèmes à la basse. Techniquement, il se distingue par une grande habileté dans des techniques complexes comme le slap et le tapping, et utilise fréquemment des basses sans frettes (fretless). Read more on Last.fm.
