Marc Ribot est un guitariste et compositeur américain, né à Newark, dans le New Jersey, en 1954. Il est souvent présenté comme un musicien incontournable de la scène downtown new-yorkaise. Marc Ribot a travaillé avec de nombreux musiciens : Tom Waits, Vinicio Capossela, Elvis Costello, John Zorn, Marianne Faithfull, Alain Bashung, Caetano Veloso ou encore Cassandra Wilson. Il participe également à la création de musique pour des spectacles de danse contemporaine notamment avec les chorégraphes flamands Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker et Wim Vandekeybus.
